CUADERNO DE VIAJE 5 - CASCAIS {TRAVEL NOTEBOOK 5 - CASCAIS}

18.08.2011

We got up early and had breakfast together. My I goes to play golf and I´m going to read for a while before going to swim. Oh!, this is the best part of the holidays. I don´t have to clean, to dust, to hoover, to do the dishes, I don´t even have to think about what I´m going to cook for lunch!. Oh yes!, this is the difference!.

I knew Cascais stay was going to be easy. My I. arrives at 1.00 p.m., and we had lunch together at 3.00 p.m.. After lunch,  we stayed at the swimming pool, showered and left to have a walk in Cascais at around 6.30.

Boca do Inferno (Hell's Mouth) is a chasm located in the seaside cliffs close to the Portuguese city of Cascais, in the District of Lisbon. The seawater has access to the deep bottom of the chasm and vigorously strikes its rocky walls, making it a popular tourist attraction.

We parked outside the village and we decided to go walking while I took some pictures. It´s the best way to see things and admire the landscape.

When I saw this house in front of the sea, I thought about that house I saw in the film "Nights in Rodanthe". The house in the film was awesome, ok it was literaly in the sea. I loved it and when I saw this one, I remembered about the other one, I had to put the picture in here. I know I know, they are not even similar.

This was the house of the film, "Nights in Rodanthe" (with Richard Gere and Diane Lane), it came to my mind when I saw the other one.

¡Impresionante!. Y por dentro era más impresionante.

Magnificent!. I love this house, in the inside and outside. Amazing!.

Okay, I´m lost in a haze again!, we were in the center of Cascais.

Cascais is a coastal town in Portugal, 30 kilometres west of Lisbon, with about 35,000 residents. It is a cosmopolitan suburb of the Portuguese capital and one of the richest in Portugal. The former fishing village is Nowadays a popular vacation spot for both Portuguese and foreign tourists. Cascais is loaded with small restaurants, tiny seafood places where you can chose from seafood to Indian delish. It´s going to be difficult to chose one for tonight.

My I. has just come to see what I was doing and he tells me to post that I spent an hour in a beautiful vintage and antique´s shop I found in Cascais. Hehe, ok, done, I said it. I´m sorry but it was about time, I needed to do some shopping.

I also loved that house with the stairs directly to the sandy beach.

We had dinner in a restaurant named "Visconde da Luz", specialized in seafood.

Una cena muy simple pero buenísima.

It was a simple dinner but utterly delicious!.

Tomamos unas gambas plancha para empezar

We had some grilled prawns to start.

Y dorada a la parrilla.

Grilled gilt-head bream

De postre, tarta de yemas. ¡Estaba buenísima!.

For dessert, egg yolk cake. It was really good!.

After dinner, we had a drink in a small pub close to the beach. Tomorrow, more time to relax.

¡OTRO DÍA FANTÁSTICO!

ANOTHER GREAT DAY!
