UNA ENSALADA DE DOMINGO {A SUNDAY SALAD}
Los domingos pasamos de cocinar en exceso, bueno siempre que no tengamos una celebración especial. Todo el mundo se levanta tarde, todo el mundo disfruta de un día sin recados, sin prisas y yo me lo tomo igual. Hoy de primero, ensaladas, está claro.On Sundays, I normally don´t cook as I do during the week, I pass really, well obviously this changes if we have a celebration or similar. Everybody gets up later than usual, the family enjoys an easy day without rushing, and like the rests I try to do my things calmly too. Today to start I´ve made a couple of salads.
¡Y EL DOMINGO ENSALADAS! / ON SUNDAY, LET´S HAVE SALADS!
INGREDIENTES PARA 4 PERSONAS
2 cogollos limpios y troceados
1 loncha de jamón de york de 1 centímetro de grosor
1 lata de maíz dulce
1 aguacate
Sal maldon
1 cucharada de mostaza de Dijón
2 cucharadas de vinagre de sidra o de vino
Aceite de oliva virgen extra al gusto
INGREDIENTS - SERVES 4
2 lettuce hearts, cleaned and cut in small pieces
1 slice of ham, of about 1 cm thick
1 tin of sweet corn
1 avocado peeled and cut
Maldon sea salt to season
1 tsp of Dijón mustard
2 tsp of vinegar, cider´s or wine´s
Virgin olive oil to the taste
PROCEDIMIENTO - METHOD
Cortar el jamón en dados de 1 centímetro aproximadamente.
Cut the ham, in pieces of 1cm aproximately.
Hacer la vinagreta con la mostaza, el vinagre y el aceite.
Make a vinaigrette with the mustard, the vinegar en the virgin olive oil.
Echar parte de la vinagreta en una fuente y poner encima los cogollos, limpios y troceados.
Pour some of the vinaigrette on a serving plate and put the lettuce hearts on it, cleaned and cut.
Añadir el jamón, el aguacate y los maíces.
Add the ham, the avocado and the sweet corn.
And pour over that, the leftover vinaigrette. Toss them gently.
And I´ll also serve a beetroot salad, with virgin olive oil, cider vinegar, salt and spring onions.
When it´s hot, I always crave salads.
