CUADERNO DE VIAJE RUTAS DESDE SORRENTO 1 - {TRAVEL NOTEBOOK ROUTES FROM SORRENTO}
Tal y como dije en una entrada anterior, la mejor manera de disfrutar de la costa Amalfitana sin ese agobio de montones de turistas en un ferry, es alquilar un barco pequeño con un grupo de personas, llamados "gozzo" Sorrentino (un max de 12, nosotros éramos 8). Sorrento tiene dos puertos principales, el primero Marina Grande que es el puerto antiguo e histórico de Sorrento y que solía ser el refugio de piratas. Está situado en una pequeña área debajo de los acantilados de Sorrento y es la mejor zona para comer pescado fresco mientras se disfruta de unas vistas del mar maravillosas. Nos fuimos a pasear un día de los que yo llamo de descanso, sin excursiones así que estará en otra entrada. El segundo puerto es Marina Piccola que es el puerto principal para cualquier transporte. Aquí se llega y se sale cuando se coge el ferry y cualquier barco de los usados en un tour. También hay un par de restaurantes pero yo no los voy a recomendar, nada que ver con Marina Grande. Es maravilloso coger una barca y ver Sorrento desde el mar, bueno Sorrento y cualquier punto de la costa Amalfitana.
- As I said in a previous post, the best way to enjoy the beauty of the Amalfi coast without the hassle of a crowded ferry is to board a traditional "gozzo" Sorrentino with a small group (max 12 people, we were just 8). Sorrento has two main ports, the first one is Marina Grande which is the old and historic port of Sorrento. It used to be home to pirates back in the day. This marina is situated in a small area of land below the Sorrento cliffs. This is the best place in the city to eat some fresh seafood while overlooking the awesome sea. We walked there one day, those days I calle relaxed, meaning no excursions or tours at all but I´ll write about it in another post. The second port is Marina Piccola which is the main transportation port. This is where you will arrive at if you take the ferry or any other boat. There are also a few restaurants there that I won´t recommend as they have nothing to do with the ones in Marina Grande. Taking a boat tour around Sorrento to see the city from afar well, not just Sorrento but all the Amalfi coast.
Así pues cogimos de nuevo el ascensor para bajar a la playa y nos fuímos a Marina Piccola, un paseito de 5 minutos. Allí nos montamos en un "gozzo" Sorrentino donde pasamos el día y visitamos Anacapri y Capri.
- So that first day, we again took the elevator and walked about 5 min. to go to Marina Piccola which is the little port where you board. On our first tour, we visited Anacapri and Capri.
Estamos en verano, lo que quiero decir es que el mar estaba maravilloso pero también abarrotado de barcos de aquí para allá.
- We are in Summer, well what I wanted to say is that the sea was awesome but so crowded with boats, ships going from one place to another.
El paseo es espectacular, las vistas y las cuevas que vas visitando maravillosas.
- The landscape while going along the coast is awesome and the caves that you visit wonderful.
Cuando el barco llegó a Marina Grande de Capri, nos quedamos todos sorprendidos de lo "petadas" que estaban las playas alrededor, bueno la verdad es que Capri no es famosa por sus playas sino por el mar que las rodea y los Faraglioni.
- When the boat arrived to Marina Grande in Capri, we were all surprised to see how "loaded" the beaches were, well the truth is that Capri is not famous for its beaches but for the sea around and the Faraglioni.
ANACAPRI
Es la segunda localidad en importancia de la isla de Capri. Se eleva en su lado septentrional, el monte Solaro, de 586 metros de altura, desde donde se puede observar una bella panorámica del golfo de Nápoles. Subimos en taxi porque queríamos probar las carreteras dentro de la isla pero para los que estén interesados sobre como moverse por la Isla, existen todos los métodos disponibles, autobús público, taxi, barco y a pie. Los vehículos no residentes tienen la entrada prohibida desde Pascua hasta Noviembre y los centros tanto de Capri como de Anacapri están totalmente cerrados al tráfico, además hay muy pocos parkings disponibles, así que el coche propio ni pensar.
- ANACAPRI
- Anacapri it´s the second more important city in the Island. It´s located at a higher elevation on the island. Administratively has a separate status from the city of Capri. From its highest point you can have a panoramic view of Napoli´s golf. We went by taxi because we wanted to see the roads inside the island but for the ones interested you can find all the methods of transportation available on the island: public bus, taxi, boat and on foot. Non-resident vehicles are prohibited from Easter to the begining of November and the centers of Capri town and Anacapri are completely closed to traffic and there is very little public parking available so forget to bring your own vehicles to these places.
Para volver a Capri nos montamos en el bus. Son muy pequeñitos porque las curvas son muy cerradas y no caben en la carretera.
- To go back to Capri we went by bus. They are pretty small because curves are dangerous and very narrow, buses hardly fit in.

Identificar Capri es fácil gracias a sus Faraglioni. Son tres rocas enormes que permanecen en las aguas cercanas a la costa y que no son otra cosa que las sobrevivientes de la erosión de la costa por el mar y el clima en el trascurso de los siglos. A cada una de estas rocas gigantescas se le ha dado un nombre: la primera está aún atada a la isla y se llama Stella, la segunda está separada por una lengua de agua y se llama Faraglione di Mezzo y la tercera se llama Faraglioni di Fuori o Scopolo, que quiere decir como si fuera un promontorio en el mar.
- It´s very easy to identify Capri thanks to its Faraglioni. They are three stacks that remain in the waters near the coast and are nothing more than the consecuence of the erosion of the coast itself by the sea and the climate over the centuries. Each of these giant rocks has been given a name: the first is the one that is still tied up to the island and is called Stella, the second is separated from the first and is called Faraglione di Mezzo and the third is called Faraglioni di Fuori or Scopolo, something like a promontory in the sea.
Los días que no hacemos ningún recorrido, los pasamos de relax en la piscina y paseando.
- The days we don´t get any excursion or route, we stayed in the hotel´s pool reading or walking around.
- From the pool, we also enjoyed a gorgeous view of Sorrento.
