CUADERNO DE VIAJE, ÚLTIMO DÍA, BURDEOS {TRAVEL NOTEBOOK, LAST DAY IN BORDEAUX }

We´re leaving today, leaving this room with a view, leaving such a beautiful place in the middle of the Dordogne.

We wanted to leave early to visit Bordeaux. We will return home after lunch.

(Wikipedia)

Bordeaux is a port city in southwestern France.
The Bordeaux metropolitan area constitutes the sixth-largest urban area in France. It is the capital of the Aquitaine region, as well as the prefecture of the Gironde department. Its inhabitants are called Bordelais.
Bordeaux is the world's major wine industry capital. It is home to the world's main wine fair. Bordeaux wine has been produced in the region since the 8th century. The historic part of the city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as "an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble" of the 18th century.(Wikipedia)

In Victor Hugo street there is a parking. The access it´s quite easy. There are several parkings in the area. Just one near the bridge.

Just next to the parking we find the Eglise catholic Saint Eloi.

We are going to visit the Cathedral. I have this issue of mine of lighting candles in every Church I visit and this is the first time I´ve visited this city.

But the cathedral is completely closed. No candles to light.

Seguimos paseando. Pasamos por delante del Ayuntamiento de Burdeos.

We went on walking. Passed by the city Town Hall.

The Basilic of Saint Michelede Bordeaux is also closed. This is weird, didn´t know churches were closed on a Sunday.

Somebody who really knows what cook and eat is, recommends us this restaurant, La Tupiña.

El restaurante precioso, rústico.

The restaurant, rustic and beautiful.

The food awesome, delicious, nutricious, recipes that are difficult to forget which warm your soul (oh I love this English expression)...what could I say.

Huevos en cocote con foie gras.  (Oeufs cocotte au foie gras).

Eggs in cocotte with foie gras.

The white part of the leeks with poached egg with truffle oil.

Magret a la parrilla. (Magret entier grillé)

Grilled duck breast.

This grilled pork ribeye steak, with potatoes puree, so good!, so tender, so juicy, the moment I put the fork in I knew I was going to love it. Absolutely mouthwatering.

And to end this post and this so fantastic meal, some cinnamon cakes with cinnamon ice cream and toffee sauce. This is another of my favourite desserts, anything with toffee sauce.
