OPERACIÓN NAVIDADES {OPERATION CHRISTMAS}

I was thinking about Christmas this morning. These are the days when we want to change our habits for the new year to come.  We want to do things before the 1st of Jan.,  we all want to start with our new purposes and thoughts, (I´m not going to mention any diet today). No way!, these are not goals or objectives we have to accomplish. This is like "Operation Christmas-New Year´s"!!!. I´m not going to do any of the things mentioned above.

A year ago to be exact, I wrote a post related to Spain´s countdown with our smoking issues. We weren´t going to be allowed to smoke in bars and cafés since the 2nd of January 2011. Okay, I decided to quit on the 2nd but as my mom insisted so much on me quitting on the 2nd, I finally decided to give up smoking on the 5th, well you know, I had to break her b.....a bit, no matter how old I am, I´m one of her children. It´s been a year since I gave up smoking!!!. Good!!!. This is something I accomplished.

Christmas not only is nice decorations and beautiful ornaments. As our song says, your children come back home for Christmas and I can tell you mine, came back really happy, I even would say he really missed me. I´m going to pass this little detail this time because he was in the middle of his exams, but I spent a whole afternoon teaching him how to organise clothes to do the laundry, whites with whites, color with color, not to organise the stuff in bags(to bring it back to me) but inside the washing machine. He spent an afternoon ironing.

We, mothers, are always trying to educate our children.

I can proudly say that my "Operation Christmas succesfully concluded". I really had a blast. We were a few at the table. I think people was happy to come over.

You know I love Christmas ornaments by now.

My baby girl, as adorable as usual (I hope she doesn´t kill me for the baby girl thing), dedicated me her whole day, and helped me with the cooking.

She helped me to prepare all the turkey stuffing. She had done this before, while she was living in London.

While I was trying to separate the skin from the turkey´s flesh.

And while I was finishing the gravy.

When I was done with the "pigs and blankets",

she had the dessert done, two incredible tarts, (I have to say she has this from me, she loves to cook too).

And we enjoyed the turkey, no leftovers, thank God. I couldn´t imagine myself eating turkey sandwhiches or similar. I was full.

When our Olentzero (our Santa) arrived, children opened their presents in amazement.

Well I have to say that I had one of the most unusual Christmas presents. My baby girl again, she couldn´t be more creative this time.  Oh I was thrilled with it!!!!.

And I´m going to take a break (not very long), I´m going to celebrate now with my family. We will eat more and I´ll have to watch SpongeBob for sure every single day at my mom´s. But I´ll come back to my blog, full of energy again, to work on it, because this is something which provides me with a lot of satisfaction. No matter how bad, sleepy and grumpy we feel the days after.

But I can´t leave without wishing you the best for this new year to come 2012. I hope it brings you health and good luck.
